Trendsetting, singer and songwriter William Becton is an artist who has garnered iconic status in Gospel music. His critically acclaimed #1 Billboard Chart-topping debut album BROKEN (Intersound Records) boasted the Gospel radio block-buster single and R&B Top 40 Radio cross-over hit “Be Encouraged”.
Becton continued to write dynamic Contemporary Gospel Music intermingled with soul and southern charm. HEART OF A LOVE SONG (1997), and B2K: PROPHETIC SONGS OF PROMISE (2000), which included amazing performances by Ali Ollie Woodson of the legendary group The Temptations on the singles “Bigger”, “In Him” and “Still Encouraged”. Both albums also soared to the Top 10 Billboard Gospel Album Charts.
Becton has returned in 2022 to release a contemporary Gospel single, “Worship Him”, utilizing his signature innovative urban sound. Becton features Stef (Stephanie McLain), Becton's protégée and long-time William Becton & Friends singer Trumond Lee.
In addition to the “Worship Him” Single, Becton premieres his first Motion Picture / Documentary Performance. Filmed during the height of the 2020 Pandemic, this Docu - Performance is an intimate journey through the personal trials, victories and the musical legacy of the artist that encouraged the nation. Becton’s story is chronicled in this candid Docu/Performance called WILLIAM BECTON: THE JOURNEY. The passion and transparency in the Worship performances are sure to touch the very core of the soul. This documentary features industry and media guests Dave Dickinson, Tracy Morgan, Liz Black, Dr. Antonia McFarland and Dr. Veryl Howard. They contribute detailed stories and eyewitness accounts of Becton's artistry and his impact on a generation and the world.
